Our Dream Getaways

Here are the dog-friendly options I've selected for us. Which one do you prefer?

Chalets Hygge Orford (Chéribourg)

Warm Scandinavian

Advantages

  • Sleek Scandinavian aesthetic and highly cozy "hygge" atmosphere.
  • Quick access to hiking trails at Mont-Orford National Park.
  • Local dog-friendly activity guide provided by the hosts.

Less Optimal

  • Strict "no furniture" policy (fees of $50+ if pet traces are found on furniture).
  • Located in the wooded Chéribourg development (close neighbors, less isolated in the wild).

Bora Boréal Racine

Floating Mini-Cottages

Advantages

  • Unique floating cabin concept with wide panoramic lake views.
  • Dogs welcome on the water (kayaks/paddleboards available).
  • True high-end disconnection and peaceful nature immersion.

Less Optimal

  • High pet fees per stay ($100 to $130 depending on unit size).
  • Compact "glamping-style" interior space (main bed located on mezzanine).
  • Dogs can never be left unattended anywhere on-site.

Chalets Lanaudière Rawdon

Vast Forest Domain

Advantages

  • Vast wooded domain with numerous scenic hiking trails.
  • Dog bowls and gear available (certified by toutourisme.ca).
  • Non-profit organization (fees support Camp Mariste summer camp for kids).

Less Optimal

  • Dogs strictly banned from the main beach and certain water access points.
  • Pet fees charged per day (~$26/day) rather than per stay.
  • Yurts do not accept dogs (cabins and cottages only).

Les Boisés de la Rivière Noire Saint-Jean-de-Matha

Privacy & Private Spa

Advantages

  • Each cottage features its own private outdoor spa and river access.
  • No additional pet fees required for most cottages.
  • Complimentary dog treats provided at check-in.

Less Optimal

  • Certain cabins are restricted to small dogs only.
  • The "Geai Bleu" cottage is strictly pet-free.
  • Strict leash rules required on all shared hiking paths.

Chalets Royal Laurentien Laurentides

Luxury Chalet Resort

Advantages

  • Very spacious, fully equipped luxury cottages (1 to 6 bedrooms).
  • Lakefront, golf access, and *Le P'tit Train du Nord* bike path.
  • Many resort activities included (swimming pool, beach, tennis).

Less Optimal

  • High pet fees ($45 per night, per animal).
  • Only select designated cottages accept pets.
  • Restricted pet access on the golf course and pool areas.

Happy birthday my love

For your gift, I wanted to offer you new memories... all together!

My dear love,

I wanted to offer a precious escape from our daily lives: a beautiful cottage stay with Petit, Ayla, Lili, and me!

I've selected some dog-friendly spots. We just need to choose where and when, and I'll take care of the rest.

Love you more,

Martin
